As the mother of two young children, the recent violence towards our Asian neighbors is heartbreaking to me.
One report notes that there were 3,800 anti-Asian racist incidents in America last year, most of them directed against women.
This is beyond horrible. America has to become a better nation.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was right: “We have to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
Town Board Sat On Contaminated Water Report For Two Weeks
The Lewisboro Town Board waited until March 19th to notify the public about a March 1st violation, which indicated Vista’s public water supply was contaminated above what New York State considers sanitary.
Even worse, the only public notice was a Facebook post and an email on the day after Alison Biddle discovered the violation and shared it with residents who are members of Vistans for Safe Water.
“Elected Officials bombard us daily with press releases, email blasts, robocalls, and social media posts, often dealing with far more trivial matters,” said Alison.
“You would think that drinking water — contaminated at 50% above the State safety level — would trigger immediate public notification in all available media. As the mother of two young children, I’d want my elected officials shouting it from the rooftops,” Alison added.”
“The Town Board failed us,” Alison concluded.
Our Amazing Local Firefighters
This story on Firefighters in Goldens Bridge is excellent. Definitely worth the read:

Thank You! Today’s Petitioning Was A Huge Success
Sunday morning’s petitioning event at the Cross River Shopping Center put our campaign close to our signature goal.
Thank you to all my friends, neighbors, and supporters — and regular voters I have never met before — for coming by to sign my nominating petition.
We have about ten days left to collect the signatures needed to place my name on the November ballot for Town Council, so we’ll keep going.
We’ll be at Oak Ridge Commons in Vista next Saturday, March 20th for the final push — join us between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, or email me at alison@alisonbiddle.com and I or my volunteers will come to you so you can sign my petition. Thank you!
Set Your Clock Forward Tonight, Then Come Sign Alison’s Petition On Sunday
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward Saturday night for Daylight Savings Time.
And on Sunday morning, from 9 AM to 12 PM, come sign Alison Biddle’s nominating petition. Volunteers will be at the Cross River Shopping Center in front of Empire Bagels.
Alison and her petitioners will be masked, and social distance guidelines will be strictly followed.
Like all New York State candidates, Alison must collect signatures from voters in order for her name to be listed on the November ballot. She only has 10 more days to get the required number of voter signatures. Please drop by Sunday and sign so she can appear on the ballot, and give voters a choice in November.
Equine Virus found in the Hudson Valley
Per WCBS TV reporter Tony Aiello:
“Worries in NY ‘horse country’ – source confirms 2 cases of EHV-1 and 2 cases of EHM, troublesome equine viruses that have wreaked havoc on European show jumping season. The NY horses are quarantined and isolated at a stable in Brewster NY.”
Happy International Women’s Day!
When I began studying Computer Science back in the 1990s at SUNY Albany, I was usually the only woman in my class.
There were lots of other women in school with me. They just didn’t realize that computer science was a possibility for them — so they never took the classes.
When I look into the eyes of my 3-year old daughter Georgi, and think back to the struggle that women like Ada Lovelace and others have faced in the past two hundred years, it gives me hope that she will have more opportunities, better opportunities, than I or any woman who came before me will.
And that’s something to celebrate.
In the mean time, here’s an excellent article on some of the most important computer scientists of all time.
Alison Biddle is running for Town Council
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I’m running for a seat on the Lewisboro Town Council to bring people together with new ideas and a new perspective, so we can solve local problems without harsh ideology and partisan nonsense.
We’re all in this together. Let’s get things done.
I hope you’ll visit this website again and again so you can learn more about me throughout the campaign.
